Carla Jean Tippit Darnell, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 25th, 2025, in Givens, TX surrounded by loved ones.
Born October 27, 1945, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Mary Margaret (Kelley) Tippit and Carl A. Tippit, Carla grew up in Paris, graduated from Paris High School, and earned her cosmetology license at Paris Academy of Beauty. On June 13, 1966, she married the love of her life, Paul Dennis Darnell, beginning nearly 59 years of devoted marriage.
In her early years she worked as a local hairdresser; later she became well known in Lamar County for hanging wallpaper—a craft she practiced for over 30 years. For more than six decades Carla was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, volunteered countless hours and lived out her deep love for the Lord and her community. Her happiest days were spent with her family at numerous gatherings and church programs or on the porch, tending the flowers she lovingly cultivated.
Carla was the most loving, joyful, precious woman and will certainly be missed dearly by her family, friends and anyone who knew her.
Corinthians 13:7 “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
