On October 6, 2022, Trooper Holt with Texas DPS suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while attending a training evolution in Lamar County. An entire team of responders came to Trooper Holt’s aid. Trooper Holt was successfully resuscitated and released from the hospital seven days later with no neurological deficit.
Today, March 23, the City of Paris EMS recognized their responding crew with the CPR Save coin.
The Paris EMS CPR Save coin is awarded to EMS crews who successfully resuscitate a patient in cardiac arrest and that patient is discharged from the hospital neurologically intact.
The CPR Save coins has been awarded to:
- Paramedic Captain B. Cooper
- Paramedic L. Dollins
- EMT T. Bussell
Many groups were crucial to Trooper Holt’s outcome, including:
- Texas DPS
- Powderly Volunteer Fire Department
- Chicota Volunteer Fire Department
- Paris Regional Health
