Calling all Kyles! The City of Kyle wants to invite anyone with the first name Kyle – spelled that way – to help attempt the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering during the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza May 19-21 at Lake Kyle Park.
This will be the City of Kyle’s fourth attempt at breaking the record.
The current Guinness World Record belongs to Kupreski Kosci in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a total of 2,325 participants named Ivan set July 30, 2017. In previous years, Kyles have come from as far as Massachusetts to participate.
“In order to break this record, we’re calling for any and all Kyle’s. We need tall Kyle’s, short Kyle’s, young Kyle’s and old Kyle’s to get close to the record set five years ago” City of Kyle Special Events Manager Claudia Rocha said. “We’re very excited about the upcoming, inaugural Kyle Fair and have high hopes that this event will bring out the Kyles needed to grab a spot in the record books.”
The Gathering of the Kyles will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21.
All eligible Kyle’s are asked to sign in at the VIP Tent beforehand, a group photo will follow. All Kyles that participate will be given a free Kyle Fair T-shirt of their choice.
There is no cost to participate and entry to the Kyle Fair is free, including attendance to live music performances.
The City of Kyle has contracted with Alamo Attractions, Inc. of San Antonio, TX to provide carnival rides, concessions and amusements at the Kyle Fair.
Rides will be available for $2 per ride or $25 for a daily wristband. Additional Kyle Fair features include three nights of free, live music, margarita and rib-making contests, and crafts and food vendors.
