The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday they have made an arrest in relation to the shooting in Greenville early Sunday morning.

Brandon Ray Gonzales, 23, has been booked into the Hunt County Detention Center on a charge of capital murder of multiple persons.

“We just kept pushing and pushing until people finally started coming forward,” said Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks

Meeks said that while Gonzales is “cooperating,” he hasn’t yet admitted to being the shooter.

“The motive of the shooting is still unknown,” he said. “He has admitted to investigators that he was at the party but hasn’t said he was the shooter.”

Authorities said 23-year-old Kevin Barry Jr., of Dallas, and 23-year-old Byron Cravens Jr., of Arlington, were killed at the party, which is believed to have had over 750 in attendance, while another 12 were injured.

Of the 12 people injured, six were shot and six were trampled or hurt by glass, authorities said. As of Monday, five remained hospitalized, one in critical condition and four in good condition, Meeks said.

Meeks said they believe Gonzales may have been targeting just one person at the party.

Gonzales is being held on $1 million bond.

Additional details as they become available.
