Friends and family have identified 23-year old Kevin Berry from Dallas, as one of the people shot and killed Saturday night at a homecoming party near Greenville, according to WFAA.
Berry’s mother, Nakima Alexander, told WFAA that Berry was a father of two sons, with another child on the way.
One other person died and 14 were injured after the shooting that occurred at The Party Avenue located just outside Greenville city limits.

WFAA said Berry’s mother explained that he was taking his kids to see their mother, who lives in the area, and stopped by the party afterward.
Alexander said Berry, who was known as “Choppaboy Wess,” was an innocent bystander in the shooting and his brother, who was also at the party, held Berry as he died.
A GoFundMe has been created to help with funeral costs.
A vigil for Berry is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday night at St. Augustine Park in Dallas.
The second victim has not yet been identified, and this post will be updated when that person is named. Authorities have not formally named either victim, nor have they formally confirmed Berry’s name.
