Although I may have carried many last names, I will leave you with : Brandy Elaine Roberts Blount.
Born February 19, 1975 at McCuistion Hospital in Paris Tx, the name Brandy was not initially picked for me because I arrived as an ugly baby and cross eyed.
As a daddy’s girl, my love for hunting, 4 wheelers, ATVs playing in the mud, fighting, and burping developed me into an independent woman who could care for herself. My love for pageant contest, cheer, and my friendships developed me into a person who was driven. Pushing me to be my best, set goals, have perseverance, smile as much as I can and give it all I had are things that my parents taught me.
Throughout my earlier life I was stubborn and set in my ways. I dismissed the feelings of others, letting compassion slip from me. If this is the person you remember, I am truly sorry. I only wish our paths would have crossed again. I have learned.
I graduated from North Lamar High School in 1993 with my goal set toward the nursing profession. I graduated from Paris Junior College in 1995 as a licensed vocational nurse. I continued with my education and graduated from Grayson County College in 1998 with an Associate Degree of Nursing. At this time I took a break from education and focused on my family and expanded my experience in nursing. I graduated from university Texas Arlington With my BSN and graduated with my Masters in nursing administration and education.
My focus in the nursing field was always toward critical care. I worked over 20 years in the emergency room, 7 years as a flight nurse, 2 years in home health and 3 years teaching higher education. I was employed at McCuistion Hospital, St Joseph Hospital, Paris Regional, Millennium Home Health, Texoma Medical Center, Airevac, Signature Care, and TAMUC.
But, of all my accomplishments, I am most proud to be the mom of my girls. I loved to read, spend time with family, and hunting. I always found peace in the woods.
Today I am not with you physically but spiritually I am. Have peace knowing my pain is gone, I am free of anxiety or worrying. Always know I am with you during troubled times.. pray, pray and pray some more. God will give you peace. Live each day like it’s the last and laugh, keep a smile on your face.
During my time with cancer I built the most amazing relationship with God. I never understood his plan or why but I continued to have faith in him.
2 Corinthians 5:7 walk by faith not by sight
My purpose is done.
