At it’s annual auction to raise funds for operating costs and providing kids with different programs, the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley broke a new record — unofficially raising $320,000.
“It was a great night for the kids and families that depend on the programs we offer. The community came together to support the work the club does each day,” said executive director, Jason Maccia.
The club offers members an array of activities to do after school including football, a computer lab, art classes, homework area, dedicated teen area (with a TV, Playstation, couches, etc.), gymnasium, game room, and more recently a music program.
More than 500 items were sold during the auction, including private flights with a luxury Dallas hotel stay, Maverick’s tickets, and a Yamaha Guitar autographed by Pat Green.
The event was streamed live on social media and local TV channel myparistexas.com 25, as well as, 104.3 The River and 98.9 Trumpet Radio by 1st Street Media with those not in attendance being able to call in bids in real time.
“We are thankful to the donors, board members, staff and volunteers who made the evening a success and look forward to a great 2024.”
