BHS Choir Senior Cesli Crum recently returned from 2 weeks in Australia singing with the WorldStrides Honors Performance series.
Crum auditioned last year and was one of the select few chosen out of thousands to participate in this honor under Grammy award-winning conductor, Jeffery Redding.
In order to attend, Crum had to begin studying college-level repertoire in May and work daily through the summer to perfect challenging choral music.
The repertoire took commitment to countless hours of preparation and voice lessons with Ms. Waller at the high school.
While in Sydney, Australia, Crum was blessed to experience singing in the Sydney Opera House. She also went whale watching, mountain searching at Three Sisters, to the beaches, Sydney Aquarium, and the Sydney Zoo. It was a trip of a lifetime!
“BHS Choir is so proud of Cesli and how she represented her program, school, and state! She will now begin preparing to perform at NYC’s Carnegie Hall in February 2024 along with Aubrey Townsend, sophomore. Both of these students worked with Ms. Waller and Kenneth Ussery to perfect solo pieces over the summer for their audition process,” said the school online.
