Billy Ray “Bill” Hatch, 91, of Taylortown, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29th at Rockford Cemetery with Rev. Doug Holt officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service.
Bill, the son of Augustus “Gus” Hatch and Afrie Richardson Hatch, was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Rockford, TX.
He graduated from Cunningham High School. Bill owned and operated a well digging operation for many years. To this day people are still drinking water from wells that he dug. He and his son, Jack, owned and operated Hatch Spur Cattle, LLC. He worked many years as a rancher; buying, selling, and raising cattle.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Beth Hatch and an infant sister, his son-in-law, Tim Mitchell, and his former wife, Mollie Tucker Orr. Survivors include two children, Billy Jack Hatch and Tonya Hatch Mitchell both of Taylortown, a granddaughter, Morgan Mitchell of Georgia, two great grandsons, Isaac Mason and Gavin Mason both of Georgia, the mother of his children, Johnnie Templeton Whitworth of Cooper, Mollie’s grandson and great grandson, Warren Orr and Bruce Orr along with numerous cousins and a host of friends.
