Texas State Trooper Matt Kuhlengel recently spoke to the fourth and fifth grade Police Academy JUMP group at Bailey Intermediate School about his many responsibilities.

One of Trooper Kuhlengel’s duties is to inspect trucks, so he invited David Ferguson of R.K. Hall to bring his truck for an inspection.

Together they demonstrated how to check the tire pressure and quality, the truck lights, and how to weigh the truck’s load.  The students then had a fun time writing an actual ticket to R.K. Hall for any violation they might have seen.

Students pictured with Ferguson, left, and Trooper Kuhlengel, are, kneeling, Maddox Phillips, Tristan Neal and Ricardo Mejia.  Standing are Dude Perry, CarterKuhlengel, Jaiden Hackney, Aliyah Hayes, Juan Saavedra, Camden Hubbard, Kaden McFatridge, Sawyer Brooks, Blue Schlaut, Kyler McGuyer, and North Lamar Police Captain Jeff Akard.  Captain Akard and Bailey fifth grade teacher Hailey Sharrock are facilitators for the JUMP group.
