The Paris Police Department is warning residents of another scam going on around Lamar County.
“We are getting reports of several residents here in Paris getting a call from a collection agency regarding an alleged past due account with a local health care provider here in Paris,” said Chief of Police Bob Hundley.
They say these suspects are demanding immediate payment over the phone along with the persons personal information.
If you get one of these calls, confirm the past due account and the collection effort with the health care provider before making any payment or providing any information.
“If you don’t have an account with the stated health care provider, just hang up.”
