Paying for your groceries at Whole Food Market stores is now in the palm of your hands — literally.
By the end of the year, Amazon says its new palm recognition payment technology will be in all 500-plus Whole Food Market stores in the U.S.
This means Whole Foods Market customers who choose to use Amazon One will no longer need their wallet or even a phone to pay—they can simply hover their palm over an Amazon One device.
Created by Amazon One, the Amazon Web Service’ palm recognition system works for identification, payment, loyalty membership, and store entry.
In addition to grocery stores, third-party businesses are also using the system like Panera Bread loyalty customers and Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies MLB team, is taking advantage of its “age verification” capability.
