Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop 5k is off to the races for Sept. 18, 2021, and registration has begun.
“We are blessed with wonderful officers in our county,” Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop President and retired police officer Amanda Willows said. “Please join us at South Main Iron in Paris to support our law enforcement at the Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop 5k and Walk in Their Shoes event.”
All proceeds from the annual 5k go toward purchasing safety equipment for Lamar County law enforcement and first responders.
Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop 5k is set for 8 a.m. on Sept. 18, and registration for the 1-mile walk is $25 or $30 on race day. The 5k registration fee is $35 or $40 on race day. For the virtual 5k run, registration is $30.
“Due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, you may choose to run virtually. You may run and submit your results anytime between Aug. 7 and Sept. 18, 2021. Result time must be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m on Sept. 18, 2021.”
