On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 12:22 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance in the 2500 block of North Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the motel manager, who reported that a male was damaging the windows of one of the motel rooms. Officers located the male inside the room and observed him using a hammer to break out the windows, causing an estimated $750 to $2,500 in property damage.
The male appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. After identifying him, officers also determined that he had outstanding warrants from the City of Paris for unpaid fines.
The male was placed under arrest on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with Criminal Mischief, $750 to $2,500, a Class A misdemeanor.
While processing the scene, officers located a bottle containing suspected methamphetamine. The substance was field-tested and weighed between 1 and 4 grams. He was subsequently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1B, 1 to 4 grams, a third-degree felony.
The male was transported to the Lamar County Jail and processed without further incident.
Officers made 39 traffic stops, made 5 adult arrest, and answered 71 calls for service during this reporting period.
