In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 3, 2026, officers with the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Tudor Street. During the traffic stop, officers attempted to identify the driver and a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger initially provided officers with a false name.
After the passenger was correctly identified, officers discovered she had outstanding warrants through the City of Paris for unpaid traffic tickets. She was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Jail for processing.
While bringing her into the jail, officers discovered a baggie containing a substance suspected to be cocaine in the female’s possession. As a result, she was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, Less Than One Gram, and Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, both felony offenses.
The female was booked into the Lamar County Jail without further incident.
Officers made 21 traffic stops, made 6 adult arrests, and answered 79 calls for service during this reporting period.
