On July 30, Officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Fitzhugh. During the investigation, officers learned that a female was upset with her family and refused to calm down. During the incident, the female attempted to grab an officer’s TASER, resulting in officers taking her into custody. She was charged with Attempt to Take a Weapon from an Officer, a State Jail Felony.
On July 30, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a male riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road in the 1900 block of Graham Street. Upon making contact, officers discovered the subject had an outstanding warrant issued by Texas Pardon and Parole. He was taken into custody on the warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed methamphetamine inside a backpack he was carrying. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, Less Than One Gram, a State Jail Felony.
On July 30, Officers made contact with a male in the 900 block of Dickson Avenue regarding a warrant arrest. The subject was taken into custody on an outstanding Lamar County Family Violence/Assault warrant. During a search incident to arrest, officers located methamphetamine inside a backpack he was carrying. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, Less Than One Gram, a State Jail Felony.
On July 30, Officers responded to a robbery call in the 1100 block of NW 19th Street. During the investigation, officers learned that several juveniles allegedly assaulted another juvenile and stole the victim’s scooter while the victim was riding in the 1300 block of North Main Street. The incident remains under investigation.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 40 traffic stops, made 8 adult arrests, and responded to 75 calls for service.
