Ted Allen Gribble, 62, passed away early Monday morning, June 22, 2026, at home surrounded by his wife and kids. A memorial/Celebration of Life service has been set for Thursday July 9th at 3:00pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Reno, TX, with Bro. Tim Reger officiating. The family will receive visitors afterwards in the Family Life Center as they celebrate Ted’s life through memorabilia and stories.
Ted was born August 12, 1963, in Santa Rosa, CA to Donald “Joe” Gribble and Joann Freeman Gribble, both from Molalla, OR. They later moved to Chattanooga, TN and eventually to Paris, TX as they relocated the family business (Agpro, Inc.) to Reno, TX. Ted Graduated from Prairiland High School and attended Paris Junior College, earning an Associate in Geography. He then attended Texas Tech University. It was there that he met his wife, Sherri, who was in the neighboring dorm. In 1988 he graduated with his Bachelor of Architecture. His father was forming an engineering company and invited Ted to join Five-G Consulting, Inc. in 1989, working as an Ag Engineer designing dairies. Ted and Sherri married on January 6, 1990, and moved to Oregon to work with the engineering company.
It was there that they had their daughter Victoria and where Ted received his Master of Science in Engineering Management in 1997 from Portland State University. In 1999 they moved their company from Oregon to Reno, TX. Ted had a long and illustrious career designing dairies all over the United States as well as the world. In the course of his business, he traveled to over 20 countries, taking along Sherri or one of the kids when he had the chance. While living in Texas, Ted accomplished many other things, such as: building two houses for his family, having two more kids—Alexander and George, involving himself in the community through sports and church, and expanding his businesses. Ted made sure to spend ample time with his family through flying, sailing, model trains, fishing, camping, building a couple of boats and a go-cart, and traveling—both on vacations and along with his business trips. What his kids and family remember most is how much he taught them and all the time spent together.
During the last three years of battling cancer, Ted still managed to work part-time, visit with family, take a few train trips, and fly in his private plane with the help of his son, George. Ted officially retired at the end of 2025 as his health steadily declined. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Mt. Olive Baptist church for their support and prayers during those times. The church was an important second family for Ted and Sherri as they navigated this journey. The family would also like to thank friends and business partners who helped along the way.
Ted was preceded in death by his father Donald “Joe” Gribble and his mother Joann Freeman Gribble. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sherri Gribble, daughter and son-in-law Victoria & Andres Del Valle, 4 grandchildren Aurora 5, Domingo 2, Adelena 8 mo. & Rafael 8 mo., sons and daughters-in-law Alexander & Brianna Gribble and George & Madeline Gribble, brother Donald Gribble, sister-in-law Dana Gribble, and sister Patricia Rice.
