North Lamar HOSA’s first-place finish marks the second consecutive year they have participated in the program and earned top honors.
As the winning team, North Lamar HOSA received a $500 award to support its ongoing activities and future opportunities for students interested in healthcare careers.
“One of the goals of our residency program is to encourage and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Saji Pillai, Program Director of the Paris Regional Health Internal Medicine Residency Program. “Students from schools across Lamar County submitted outstanding projects this year. Their creativity, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm for healthcare made selecting a winner a difficult task, and we are grateful to all of the students and their sponsors who participated.”
The program is one of several initiatives through which Paris Regional Health and its Internal Medicine Residency Program engage local students, promote healthcare education and help develop the future healthcare workforce.
