Gary Merrill Patterson, 68 of Brookston, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Paris, TX.
A graveside service has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16th at the open air pavilion at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris with interment to follow. Rev. Ted White will officiate the service. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Gary was born in Paris, Texas on January 31, 1958, to Lyndon Pete and Doris Patterson. He attended West Lamar High School and worked in the maintenance department at Paris Junior College for several years.
He is survived by a brother, Lynn Patterson and wife Marvin Ann Patterson of Brookston, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
He was preceded in death by the parents, Pete & Doris Patterson, a sister Deborah Kay Patterson Liesman and a brother Darrell Wayne Patterson.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Patterson, Chad Liesman, Kyle Patterson, Ryan Patterson,, Wesley Patterson and Wade Patterson.
A special thanks goes to his Aunt Delores who spent many hours visiting and to Brentwood and On Call Hospice for the excellent care given in his final days.
