A local man is hoping to find the woman who made an impact on his life with a simple act of kindness back in 2021 at Applebee’s.
At the time, she paid for his meal and left a handwritten note explaining she wasn’t sure why she felt compelled to do it — only that she hoped it would show him that kindness still exists in the world.
In her message, she also shared a deeply personal detail: after losing her husband seven years earlier, that day marked the first time she had eaten alone in public since his passing.
The man has held onto the note ever since.
Now, after experiencing his own loss —his wife passed away in 2025 — he has been moved to respond. In honor of his late wife, he wants to repay that same kindness and finally express his gratitude to the woman who unknowingly made such a lasting impact on his life.
The girls at Paris Coffee shared the story in hopes of helping one of their “amazing customers” find the woman and reconnect this “moment of kindness.”
“Someone went out of their way to bless them that day, and now they would love the chance to simply say ‘thank you’.” said Paris Coffee.
