On Mar. 19, An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 2200 block of NE Loop 286 and made contact with the driver, Jeromey Brent Gray (40). Gray’s vehicle smelled of marijuana and Gray admitted to having used a THC vape earlier. The officer observed marijuana in the vehicle. Gray gave permission for a vehicle search and was found to have over 3 ounces of marijuana as well as a THC vape and Psilocybin mushrooms in the vehicle. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance X2 and Possession of Marijuana over 2 Oz. Gray was booked and taken to county jail.
On Mar. 19, Officers responded to the 1400 block of Clarksville St in regards to a Burglar Alarm. The found that the door glass had been broken out and entry had been made. Numerous items were scattered about and found outside in the street and on the parking lot. Evidence was recovered and a video of the suspect committing the offense was obtained. The investigation is ongoing.
On Mar. 19, Officers were notified of a theft from a residence under construction in the 700 block of SE 23rd. The owner advised that an unknown person had entered the residence and stolen copper plumbing and electrical wiring had been stolen from the residence. The incident is under investigation.
On Mar. 19, Officers investigated a report of a hit and run accident that reportedly occurred in the 2400 block of Lamar Avenue. The victim advised she and a witness had been crossing at the crosswalk when a white SUV struck the victim and then proceeded on without stopping. Officers spoke with the witness and victim and a report was taken. The victim nor the witness could provide identifying information for the driver at the time of the report. The incident is under investigation.
Officers made 95 traffic stops, 7 adult arrest, and answered 159 calls for service during this reporting period.
