Shirley Juanita Henderson, 91, of Bogata, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12th at Fist Baptist Church Bogata with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating. Burial will be made in Bogata Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Henderson, the daughter of Johnny Franklin Clark and Earlene Byers Clark, was born Dec. 13, 1934.
She graduated from beauty school and then was instrumental in running the family concrete business. When she and her husband, Roy, moved to Bogata they owned and operated Henderson Concrete.
Shirley was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church Bogata, the church which she and her husband helped to build. Following their retirement, she and Roy were active with the Texas Baptist Men. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Earl Henderson, whom she married on Dec. 26, 1953, building 70 years of family and memories before his death on Oct. 9, 2024. Also preceding her in death were a grandson, Toby Sears, a great grandson, Hayden Pruett, two brothers, Ray Clark and Johnny “Bud” Clark, two sisters-in-law, Wynona Clark and Kathy Clark and a brother-in-law, Jay Lee McAfee.
Survivors include two children, Vicki Bond and husband Doug and Ricky Henderson and wife Gena, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, three siblings, Dee Clark, Euna Mae McAfee, and Joann White and husband John, and a sister-in-law, Janice Clark along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Jason Sears, Keaton Sears, Kamren Sears, Matthew Henderson, Christopher Henderson, and Ricky Henderson. Honorary bearers will be: Ronald Henderson, Danny Barton, Dee Clark, and John White.
