On Feb. 4, Officers reported to the Parole Office and arrested Joe Bradley Cochran (46) on an outstanding Parole Violation Warrant. Cochran was booked without incident and placed in county jail.
On Feb.4 , An officer stopped Merley Walters III (54) in the 100 block of Clement Road for driving erratically in the area of N. Main and NE Loop 286. The officer noted that Walters was making furtive movements within the passenger compartment prior to the stop. Upon making contact with Walters, the officer observed Walters to have a container in his hand of a type frequently used for the carrying of narcotics. Backup officers arrived and permission was granted to search Walters’ vehicle. Inside the vehicle officers located marijuana, a loaded handgun which had been reported stolen in Sulphur Springs Texas, and further narcotics residue and paraphernalia. Walters is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possession of firearms. Walters was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was booked without incident and taken to county jail.
Officers made 47 traffic stops, 2 adult arrest, and answered 90 calls for service during this reporting period.
