Putting community first, Lamar County Commissioner Precinct 4 candidate Ken High is donating all dessert auction proceeds from his Feb. 9 Meet & Greet to help a local family who lost everything in a house fire and a young boy battling a rare cancer.
“Tragedy can hit a family in seconds,” said High. “One family in our community lost everything they owned in a house fire, and one of my wife’s students has been diagnosed with a rare cancer and is in need of a miracle.”
To help these families lighten even a fraction of their burden, every dollar raised from the dessert auction will go to the two families.
“When a community shows up, small acts turn into real impact. I’ve learned through this election process that titles don’t change the world, people do. Every dessert dollar baked, every dollar given, every act of support — none of it is small when God multiples it.”
The event is being held at CLC Auction, 7915 US Highway 82 E in Blossom, Texas (10 miles east of Paris) on Feb. 9 from 5 – 7 p.m.
The cake/dessert auction starts at 6 p.m. (Cookie, pie and dessert donations are appreciated).
Callie Crawford will also be performing at the event starting at 5 p.m.
