On Nov. 24, Officers arrested Albert Ramon Baker (38) of Paris in the 300 block of NW 4th. Baker was known to have an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault to a Family Member with a Deadly Weapon. He was taken into custody without incident. The arrest originates from an incident occurring in the 300 block of 4th NW in September of this year in which Baker allegedly assaulted a 19 year old female victim by striking her with a handgun, assaulting her with his fist, and making threats to kill her. The case was investigated by Paris Police Detectives and a warrant was issued by the Lamar County Attorney’s Office. Baker was taken to Lamar County Jail.
On Nov. 24, Officers of the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force seized a car dolly that had been abandoned behind apartments in the 600 block of Bonham St. A check of the dolly revealed that the identification numbers had been removed or obliterated. The vehicle was brought to the department for processing. Since the dolly was abandoned with no identification numbers, it is presumed to be stolen.
On Nov. 24, Officers received a report of a subject using fictitious funds to commit a theft. A known suspect had on two occasions used fake monies to purchase fuel at a location in the 3700 block of Lamar Avenue. On the first occasion, the clerk did not realize the cash was fake. On the second occasion they recognized what was occurring and stopped the pump. The suspect then left the scene quickly. The suspect was identified by video evidence and a tag number. The incident is under investigation.
In Nov. 24, the department was notified of a burglary of a residence in the 1000 block of Meadowlark Lane. The victim advised they were missing two pieces of jewelry from a jewelry box in their home. Other valuables were not taken from the same area. The case is under investigation by Paris Police Detectives.
Officers made 13 traffic stops, 2 adult arrest, and answered 80 calls for service during this reporting period.
