On Nov. 21, Officers responded to the 600 block of N. Main in regards to a Burglary of a Business. A suspect had broken out the glass from a door in an attempt to gain entry to the business. Officers reviewed video of the suspect attempting to kick open two doors of the business unsuccessfully and then throwing a piece of concrete into the front door glass and breaking it. The suspect then attempted to unlock the door but was unsuccessful. The case is under investigation.
On Nov. 23, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 600 block of SW 7th. Upon arrival they met the 24 year old victim who told them that she and her boyfriend, Dazreecious Tyrell Mason (27), had gotten into an argument at another location. At that time, Mason had choked the victim which was witnessed by others at the scene. The victim had left and gone home and later Mason came to the residence. At that time they continued the argument at which time he had assaulted her by choking her again and dragging her around the living room. He had also threatened to kill the victim. When she tried to call police, Mason took her phone. Another subject then came to the residence and Mason had left with him, taking the victim’s phone and $40.00 in cash he had stolen from her. Mason was gone when officers arrived. Officers later responded to the location again at 06:10 and located the suspect at the residence where he had returned and yet again choked the victim. Mason was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence. He was booked without incident and an emergency protective order was requested.
Officers made 68 traffic stops, 60 adult arrest, and answered 275 calls for service during this reporting period.
