On Sept. 22, an officer responded to Paris Regional Medical Center in regards to an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The officer met with the twenty year old victim who advised him that her boyfriend had assaulted her with a handgun. Reportedly the two had gotten into an argument and the suspect had threatened the victim with a firearm and then had struck her several times with the weapon causing lacerations to her face and possibly breaking fingers on her hand. The suspect made statement to the effect that he would kill the victim. The victim advised officers that this was not the first time the suspect had assaulted her. Officers documented and photographed injuries for evidentiary purposes and the case is under investigation. A protective order was requested for the victim.
Officers made 6 traffic stops, 3 adult arrest, and answered 110 calls for service during this reporting period.
