Mark your calendars for the annual Slade Baker Memorial Crawfish Cook-Off set for May 4, at South Main Iron, with all-you-can-eat crawfish.
The event, which honors the life of former firefighter Slade Baker, raises proceeds for local scholarships recipients entering the fire academy.
There will be a team crawfish cooking competition with teams facing-off for the Championship Title Trophy and a cash prize. The competition will also award People’s Choice, Best Team Name, and Most Creative Side Dish.
For those attending, you can purchase tickets for the Crawfish Courtyard, allowing all-access to all-you-can-eat crawfish and fixin’s.
Those without tickets will still be able to enjoy live music and the kids corner at no cost.
There will be a silent auction and several raffle items available inside South Main Iron.
A cornhole tournament will also be held on the Friday night. Teams will compete for 50/50 payout for first place and a $200 payout for second. Entry is $50 per person.
