On Mar. 5, Officers were notified of a Theft of a Vehicle. The victim had left her 2019 ford EcoSport SUV parked in a parking lot of her business in the 1000 block of Clarksville. The vehicle was left unlocked and the key fob was in the vehicle. The vehicle had been taken some time after 1230 and was noticed missing at 1700. The victim’s purse and other personal items were also in the vehicle. The vehicle was entered as stolen and was located in the 2400 block of N. Main at 1800 hours by Lamar County Constables and members of the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force. The driver, Theresa Michelle Davidson (43) of Paris and a passenger were detained. Davidson admitted to having taken the vehicle without permission. Some of the property from within the vehicle was missing. Part of the property was recovered with the assistance of the passenger. It was also found that the victim’s credit cards had been used for unauthorized purchases. Davidson was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Credit Card Abuse. She was booked and processed.
On Mar. 5, Officers responded to the 2000 block of Spur 139 in reference to a criminal mischief. It was discovered that a suspect had climbed to the top of the store and damaged the HVAC units to the extent that they would have to be replaced. The suspect committed the crime during the theft of copper and aluminum parts from the HVAC units. The Estimated cost to repair the units was over 50,000.00. The reporting officer collected evidence at the scene and developed a possible suspect, Casey Daniel Healey (34) who lived nearby. He notified the Criminal Investigation Division of the Department who, along with the reporting officer went to Healey’s residence and located him there. Healey was arrested on a warrant not related to this crime. At the scene, officers located further evidence of Healey’s commission of the incident involving the damages. Further evidence was collected at the scene and Healey was charged with Criminal Mischief Over $30,000.00, Theft of Materials Copper/Aluminum/ Bronze, and the unrelated warrant for Criminal Mischief over 100.00 but less than 750.00.
