After a memorial bench at Aaron Parker Elementary School was vandalized on March 31, the school’s student council and PTO is holding a bake sale to cover the cost of replacing the bench.
“Sometime during the night of Wednesday, March 31, 2021, someone used a rock and damaged the bench,” the school posted on social media. “The bench is not repairable and needs to be replaced.”
The bench was originally bought several years ago by Aaron Parker’s PTO.
The bake sale will be Friday, April 23, from 7:15-10 a.m. and 3:30-4 p.m. on the school’s front lawn – 98 County Rd 44112 in Powderly.
They will also sell shirts with the slogan, “Be the Good,” and classes are also taking in donations after the sale. The school said the class that raises $100 or more will have the opportunity to pie Principal Kristin Hughes.
