North Lamar ISD has a plan in place in case the district needs to close any day the week of Feb. 15.
“North Lamar ISD is closely monitoring the impending weather that is expected to impact our area over the weekend and into early next week. Student and staff safety is always our highest priority. The decision to close NLISD due to weather concerns will be based on the ability for buses and vehicles to navigate roads and safely transport students throughout our district. Our goal is to make the decision as early as possible so that families have time to prepare.
Should a determination be made that inclement weather prevents our staff and students from safely traveling to their campuses, the district will pivot to online learning instruction and operations for all students and staff. All students will be required to engage in remote instruction provided by the district. It is imperative that all students log in to be counted present. Our staff is reviewing the online strategies with our students today to help prepare them for this possibility next week. Devices are being sent home today with students who do not have devices at home.
Monday, February 15th is a scheduled district holiday. If there are any changes to the district’s schedule or activities, we will notify our families and staff members via website, social media, radio and television stations, and through our Panther Alert system.
In the event that we pivot to online learning, our teachers will be available by email from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For technical assistance, email technology@northlamar.net.”
