Larry James Redus, 74, of Paris, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Guille Seigler officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Larry, the son of L. J. Redus & Dorrell Margaret Powell Redus, was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Paris.

While attending Paris High School he joined the United States Navy as a reservist. Upon his graduation in 1963, he entered the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1966. In 1974, he graduated from East Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. It was in 1974, that he began working as an electrician at L. P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center. He and his family then moved to west Texas where he worked in the oil industry for Skelly Oil. When they returned to Paris he worked as an electrician for Merico and Flowers-Ideal Bakery before beginning his career with Kimberly-Clark, retiring in 2007.

Larry was a longtime, faithful member of Springlake Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorrell Powell Anderson and L. J. Redus.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Tippit Redus, whom he married on Feb. 24, 1967, building fifty-two years of family and memories, three sons; Michael Redus & wife Christine of McKinney, Lynn Redus of Paris and Jason Redus & wife Lauri of Volcano, HI, grandchildren; Alexandria Redus, Jacob Redus, Rebecca Ball and Chloe Redus Bartley, great grandchildren; Anastasia Redus and Jackson Ball, siblings; Johnny Redus & wife Linda of Florida, Belinda Christian & husband Jim of Dallas, Mike Redus & wife Nancy of Paris, Victor Anderson & wife Kathy of Woodbine, GA and George Anderson of Augusta, GA along with many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Jeff Brown, Dalton Darnell, Wesley Darnell, Darren Darnell, Michael Jones and Steve Jones.
