CASA for KIDS and the Lamar County District Attorney’s Office have partnered to organize the 7th Annual Walk of Hope, which will consist of a ceremony and a walk of hope to raise awareness for all crime and child abuse victims.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and April 23 – 29 is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
The ceremony will consist of the posting of the colors, singing of the national anthem by the very talented Shannon Jones, a performance by Paris High School choir, Guest Speaker Kimmie Snowton and we’ll hear from Jane Adams, crime victim’s coordinator with the D.A.’s office, and Rochelle Harrison from CASA for KIDs then we’ll take a short “walk of hope” around the downtown area.
A free hot dog lunch will be provided.
The ceremony takes place on Friday, April 28 from 11:30 to 1:00 at the downtown square, and we encourage the community to join us for this very important event.
