The 69th Annual Boys and Girls Club Youth Auction took place this past weekend, Friday, December 7th at 1st Street Studios and turned out to be a major success.
This year’s auction was in honor of two big contributors of the Boys & Girls Club in that of Allyson Fasken and Barney Bray.
The event auctioned off items ranging from Cowboy football tickets, Dallas Stars tickets, weekend getaways in Broken Bow, knife sets, smoked hams and everything in between.
The auction raised approximately $136,000 in less than five hours.
Not only could locals attend the event and bid in person but the auction was streamed live on local TV station, myparistexas TV25, as well as on KFYN 104.3FM The River and multiple Facebook pages for viewers to call in and bid from the comfort of their own homes.
Community members also directly sponsored children during the event in honor of Fasken and Bray.
The proceeds of the auction go towards the cost of continuing to run the Boys & Girls Club so that these young children continue to have a safe and enjoyable environment after school every day.
With over 180 kids coming through the doors of The Boys & Girls Club every day, the success of events like this year’s annual auction means a great deal to the Club’s President Clifton Fendley.
“I am very pleased with the continued support that we received from the community,” said Fendley. “To be able to sustain an auction that brings in over 100K year after year is truly unbelievable.”
Mr. Fendley would also like to add that anyone interested in donating and sponsoring a child for the coming year can do so by contacting the Boys & Girls Club office at 903-784-6360
