United Way’s 12th Annual Kids Marathon kickoff is slated for April 5 at 5:15 p.m.
As a way to help improve the community’s health, the event is free to any Lamar County student from Kindergarten through sixth grade. Students will receive a running log and run their first mile on Trail de Paris on April 5.
The kickoff, scheduled for 5:15 p.m., begins at Love Civic Center’s sports complex pavilion, 2025 S. Collegiate Dr. on April 5 with staggered start times.
Event organizers want to remind participants to follow COVID-19 protocols – social distancing, masks and the use of hand sanitizer.
The event has been previously sponsored by Lamar County Coalition of Education, Business and Industry. Now the United Way of Lamar County is sponsoring the event.
