There were 110 names of people with all types of cancer – some who are fighting, have fought, survivors and some in heaven, honored at the 3rd annual Pumpkin Festival Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2022 and have had multiple surgeries, chemo and it’s been a hard two years,” said Monica Helm. “But I have gained a lot of pink sisters who check in on me and me on them and just look at how Paris, Texas, showed up for us on this day. This is why I love this town so much.”
The names of those being honored were on the back of t-shirts worn by those participating in the walk.
“I walked for those who have passed, those who are fighting and those who have WON the fight against all types of cancer, but most of all I’m walking for the one who gives us strength, brings us through, and gives us love everlasting in heaven where we will meet our loved ones again. I walk for Jesus.”
