More than 41,000 bottles of Walgreens Saline NAsal Spray with Xylitol is being recalled due to microbial contamination, specifically Pseudomonas lactis, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to the FDA notice, the 1.5-ounce (45mL) bottles of the nasal spray may be contaminated with pseudomonas lactis, a bacterium that causes dairy products to spoil. Authorities didn’t say what may have caused the contamination.

The recall has been classified as Class II, indicating that a product may cause temporary or medically-reversible adverse health consequences.
The nasal spray was sold at Walgreens stores nationwide.
