The 11th Annual Hatch Chile Fest: The fresh roasted hatch chiles arrive at the Paris Farmers and Artisan Market again on August 30, 2025.
Hatch Chile Fest features the freshest hatch chiles straight from New Mexico, roasted on site, and sold public from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
In addition to 40 plus vendors selling veggies, baked goods, meat, coffee, artisan items, Mariachi Quetzal, the Denton based band is returning to entertain the crowd from 10am and 12p.m. Their energetic and vibrant performances bring the fiesta to the Market.
Other activities include themed kids’ games and crafts, and samples of the chiles served on burger sliders, starting at 10:00 a.m. The 11th Annual Hatch Chile shirts are available for purchase while supplies last.
The success of this event is not possible without volunteers. Help is needed with roasting, bagging chiles, serving burger sliders and selling T-shirts. All volunteers receive a bag of fresh roasted chiles to take home. To learn more about the event or sign up to volunteer, see the website Paristexas.gov/FAM or check out the Hatch Chile Fest event https://www.facebook.com/events/732196292628107
Ron Preusse, vendor and creator of Hatch Chile Fest, travels to New Mexico every year to bring back this special variety of chiles harvested just days before the event. “It’s a road trip to pick up and bring back the chiles, but we enjoy it,” says Preusse. “Last year we roasted 2300 lbs. of chiles by noon. This year’s plan is to get 2600 lbs.”
