Venita Jane O’Neal crossed over from this life to her heavenly home at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her loving family as she completed her journey on this earth. Her family and friends find great comfort and joy in the reunion that occurred at 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Life Tabernacle Church, Cunningham, TX with Frankie Norwood officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will make burial in Restland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.

Jane O’Neal was born Dec. 20, 1930 in Rockford, Texas to Oscar and Annie Gann Barber. She was the oldest of three siblings, Betty Jo Burks and Billy Hue Barber all who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Claude Taylor O’Neal on Dec 4, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1976. We imagine he was waiting at the gate with unimaginable joy.

She attended Delmar and Cunningham Schools, She graduated Salutatorian of her Cunningham graduating class. She attended Paris Junior College and East Texas State University. She worked for the Department of Agriculture for 29 years and helped her husband manage the Cunningham cotton Gin for several years. She was devoted to her church and church family and was a founding member of Life Tabernacle Church in Cunningham.

Survivors include three daughters, Claudia Sue Jackson and husband Murray of Paris, Karla Jean Palmer-Coker of Paris and Lisa Gail Drinnon and husband Dwayne of Cunningham; seven grandchildren, David Jackson and wife Kathleen, Janee Black and husband Keith, Andrea Martin and husband A.D., Kara Baca and husband Brad, Aaron Palmer, O’Neal Drinnon and wife Julia and Weston Drinnon and sister in law Ann Barber and nine great grandchildren, her son-in-law, Kenneth Palmer of Bogata, an abundance of nieces, nephews and friends along with her cherished caregivers, Ester Rodriquez and Daniella.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Life Tabernacle Church or Restland Cemetery in Cunningham in care of Neva Oats at P.O. Box 186, Cunningham, Tx 75434.
