The price of First-Class Mail Forever stamps just went up from 73 cents to 78 cents effective Sunday, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
The price hike was proposed in April, raising the price of First-Class Mail Forever stamp by 5-cents.
The changes also increase domestic shipping rates by roughly 6.3% for Priority Mail, 7.1% for USPS Ground Advantage, and 7.6% for Parcel Select. PRiority Mail Express rates will remain the same.
“As changes in the mailing and shipping marketplace continue, these price adjustments are needed to achieve the financial stability sought by the organization’s Delivering for America 10-year plan,” USPS said in an April news release. “USPS prices remain among the most affordable in the world.”
