The United Way of Lamar County (UWLC) will be holding a Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser on Friday, November 21st at the PJC Ballroom from 11:30am-1pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 (cash only).
The Chili Cook-Off teams include representatives from UWLC partner agencies and some of the workplace campaigns including teams from Paris/Lamar County Habitat for Humanity, the Paris Wesley Center, the Downtown Food Pantry, C.E.R.T., Lamar County Literacy Council, RSVP, CASA for Kids, REACH/RRVDSS, Paris Regional Health, Keep Paris Beautiful, The King’s Daughters, Paris Community Theatre, Imagination Library, Lamar National Bank, and the Salvation Army.
Judges are Paul Allen, Dr. Stephen Benson and Eric Kaufman who will choose the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners.
The Chili Cook-Off will be a part of the United Way’s Campaign’s final Report Out Meeting. UWLC has a goal to raise $600,000 for their 19 partner agencies and in addition to announcing the Chili Cook-Off winners those in attendance will hear from Campaign Volunteers on if they reached their workplace campaign goals.
All are welcome to attend. There will also be $1 tickets (cash only) for those in attendance to vote for their “People’s Choice” award winning chili. All proceeds benefit the United Way of Lamar County.
