The United Way of Lamar County has added another college scholarship this year, bringing the total number of scholarships available to five.
This year’s new scholarship is a $500 scholarship specifically for students who are going to business school. The new business school scholarship is underwritten by DELCO Trailers.
The other four scholarships include a $500 CTE Scholarship, a $500 First Generation to College Scholarship, a $1000 per year (total $4000) Scholarship for Education Majors, and a $500 Academic Scholarship that includes an essay on how one of the United Way of Lamar County’s partner agencies have impacted them.
All scholarships are for any two or four year college. Applications are available at all area high school counselors offices or by emailing jenny.wilson@lamarcountyuw.org. Scholarship applications are due by Friday, April 17, 2026. Scholarship recipients are announced at the annual Texas Scholars event, which this year is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th at Wildcat Stadium.
