On Thursday, April 18, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Deputies located 2 credit card “skimmers” at a gas station located in Blossom Texas.
This incident is being investigated by Lamar County Sheriff Detectives.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging citizens that pay for their gas at the pumps to check their bank account information as soon as possible. Be vigilant and check your account frequently if you use your credit/debit card on a regular basis.
If you believe you have been a victim of credit/debit card abuse, contact your financial institution immediately as well as your local law enforcement agency.
One way to check for skimmers at the gas pump is to turn on your phones Bluetooth capability. If you see a long string of numbers and letters trying to connect, it could be a sign a skimmer is on the pump.
