An early Tuesday morning vehicle accident sent one to the hospital and another was pronounced deceased at the scene after the vehicle struck a house and cluster of trees.
At about 5:30 a.m. on July 12, Paris Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a fatal accident in the 500 block of Pine Bluff Street.
“A 1988 Chevrolet pick-up driven by a 27 year old male was westbound and left the roadway on the north side of the road,” said Paris Police Officer Curtis Garrett.
The vehicle struck a cluster of trees and a house, and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Paris Fire Department was on scene to ensure no issues arose from the vehicle being moved off of a gas meter it had been sitting over. The fire department also removed the roof and driver-side door to extricate the victim from the truck.
A female passenger was also pulled from the vehicle and transported to Paris Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
