It’s the first day of school and for local school districts it’s time for their report card reviews as the state officially released their findings.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released their ratings this morning giving each district a letter grade.

The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.

This years stand out ‘student’ was Chisum ISD who graded a B last the year before and finished on top with an A for last year. Roxton ISD was graded a C, however, with the impending consolidation that happened between Roxton and Chisum ISD, it was the ‘Closing the Gaps’ domain that brought Roxton’s overall grade down
