Around 5:20 p.m. yesterday evening, news broke of a standoff situation with a suspect who had barricaded himself inside a home in the 1200 block of S 5th Street in Bonham.
Bonham Police Officers, Fannin County Deputies, and DPS Troopers all responded to the scene.
Around 7:12 p.m. Grayson County SWAT arrived on the scene and shortly after Sherman SWAT arrived.
The standoff ended just after 9 p.m.
Bonham Chief of Police Mike Bankston said, “The Bonham Police Department attempted to execute a felony arrest warrant on a 48-year-old man. Upon arrival, he was armed and entered into a standoff. Grayson and Sherman tactical teams arrived to assist and during the negations at some point the man took his own life.”
The name of the man has not been released at this time.
