Multiple structures and livestock were saved thanks to the quick response of several volunteer fire departments on Thursday.
Faught VFD, East Post Oak VFD, and Novice VFD all responded to a grass fire on CR 44850 Thursday afternoon.
The cause of the fire was determined to be from trash burning with high winds that carried flames away.
Texas Forest Service provided back-up on the scene and Lamar County Emergency Management provide command.
