There’s a new scam making the round that you need to be aware of.

This time it’s a texting scam that disguises itself as a delivery notification from companies like Amazon and FedExaccording to How to Geek.

Those who receive the text will get a link that takes you to a fake Amazon page that suggests you take a “free survey.”

The survey asks for your credit card information to pay for shipping, and it will automatically sign you up to receive a product each month with a charge of $98.95.

According to How To Geek, this is a SCAM.

Another way to tell this is a scam is by noting what is in the address bar of the web page. If the web address has Amazon or FedEx in the name, it’s likely OK. I it doesn’t note the companies or displays a webpage that looks suspicious, it is likely a scam.

“You should never click on a link that you think is coming from a spammer. And if you do accidentally open the link, you should definitely never enter your credit card number or provide the site with personal information,” said How To Geek.

They further said, “If you’ve become the target of these types of spam messages, we recommend blocking the number immediately. iPhone and Android users both have access to built-in spam-blocking tools that should help cut down on the number of fake messages.”

Both Amazon and FedEx also have tools and guidelines on reporting scams or phishing attempts.
