CHOCTAW COUNTY – A Sawyer, Oklahoma, man is behind bars after law enforcement was alerted to someone making a threat to “kill everyone” at a school.

A call came into the Choctaw County Communications Center around 10:00 p.m. on Sept. 24, from a chat monitoring service.

“It alerted us that a man had sent a message that he was going to kill everyone at a school then kill himself,” said Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park on Facebook.

The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, Hugo Police Department, and Choctaw Nation Tribal Police Officers met and went to a location in Frogville to search for the suspect.

“We didn’t find the man there so we all went to an apartment in Sawyer and located the man,” said Parks.

The man was arrested for terroristic threats, using an electronic device in comm of a felony and other charges.

A Hugo man was also picked up by officers and interviewed but was released shortly after.

Parks further stated that the Sawyer man was a security guard at an establishment in Choctaw County and a National Guard Solider out of Bryan County.

“From the time we all were notified, he was in jail within three hours,” said Parks, “I can’t thank you all enough CCSO, HPD, CNTP and CC Comm Center for the unity of everyone tonight.”

At time of press, the man’s name had not been released.
