Sports remain alive and well in the Red River Valley, As the season rolls on, RRV volleyball heats up with more district competition at 6 tonight. In Classes 3A and 4A, local teams will fight for wins in their respective districts with key matchups.
The Paris Lady Wildcats are in the midst of a three-game skid. Paris lost their last three games at home against North Lamar and Pleasant Grove, and on the road at Gilmer. Now, the Lady ’Cats aim to get on track at home against Pittsburg.
Meanwhile, the North Lamar Pantherettes are finding their stride in district play. The Pantherettes avenged a home loss to Pleasant Grove with two impressive wins. North Lamar won in three sets against Paris at Wildcat Gymnasium, then the Pantherettes swept Liberty-Eylau at home. Now, North Lamar will take the court again with a tough test at Gilmer.
In Class 3A competition, the Prairiland Lady Patriots have been unstoppable in their district. Prairiland holds a 9-0 record in league play and will face their toughest foe for the second time. The Lady Patriots already handed Emory Rains its only loss of the season in a five-set thriller in Emory. Tonight, the stakes are high as the Lady Wildcats travel to Pattonville to compete in a critical rematch with Prairiland.
RRV volleyball heats up with another local team in action. The Chisum Lady Mustangs are still searching for their second district win since their three-set victory at Lone Oak. Tonight, the Lady Mustangs face Lone Oak one more time. This time, the teams will match up in Mustang Gymnasium as Chisum tries to make a late postseason push. For more sports coverage, click here.
